on demand (digital printing) and finishing departments
– with production operations running 18 hours

Environmental Improvements
Parker Pad & Printing has made significant environmental
improvements, which represent a part of the on-going
environmental plan for the company.
Recycling Process
A formal recycling program has been implemented to
ensure that all waste paper and metal plates from the
plant are gathered and recycled by an environmental
processor.
Litho Pressroom
One of the major areas of environmental concern was
based in the lithographic pressroom. Waste fountain
solution evolved into contaminated water with metals
such as cobalt, chromium, copper, molybdenum, zinc with
other elements from ink and the solvents used on the
presses. Approximately 6,000 litres/yr of the spent
fountain solution is generated annually from this process.
The development of a waste hazardous material handling
system ensures that all waste fountain solution and
other solvents are captured and processed by a certified
environmental waste processor and transfer of hazardous
waste materials.
Summary
The environmental measures implemented to date by Parker
Pad & Printing are part of an on-going environmental
plan to demonstrate environmental due diligence and
ensure compliance with all relevant jurisdictional environmental
laws and regulations.
