Leading technology in the news – Print Action, November 2004

Kodak launched its fifth imaging unit for the NexPress 2100 at DRUPA 2004. This fifth unit and the NexPress intelligent colour solutions allow the printer to simulate 86 per cent of the 1,114 colours in the Pantone Matching System, making the press a Pantone-licensed product. The fifth unit also allows users to add a flood or spot coating with a new, clear dry ink. In addition to providing product, this overcoat can be an authenticating watermark on coupons or to communicate copyrights on proofs of portrait images. The NexGlosser in the fifth unit achieves higher gloss than conventional UV-coating processes.

Update February 2005: Parker Pad has had considerable success with the Nexpress 2100. It's colour and production capabilities have made it a hit with our clients and production team.
